My New Beau, Clara

On the endless list of "style icons" which these days, include people like Taylor Swift and Cory Kennedy (ummm what?), I suddenly feel the need to look back. Waaay back. Clara Bow really was the "It" Girl of her time. While her other "glamorous" counterparts would have basked in the sun of that tittle, Clara was too busy being, well, herself. Strangely, I find alot of myself in her style. She was sexy and silly at the same time. Maybe she didn't know which one she was. Was she supposed to be cute, funny, pretty? The smirk behind those cupid lips says it all.

  2. Guess who? =) I told you I would come and comment.

Wow, she is beautiful isn't she? I love models from the early to mid 20th century, much more than really modern ones. The way she looks, I mean, her image as a whole, appeals to me so much more than anything I see today. Great hair, lovely eyes, pouty lips, and how they all come together to form that smug but incredibly cute and playful expression is just fantastic. If you can call it classic beauty then I am a definite fan of the classics. =)

Two other "dolls" from back then that I admire, Barbara Feldon and Bettie Page. I enjoyed this bit of blog quite a bit Sophie. I will definitely come back. =)

I like your pictures too! Heh, I bet I'm the least knowledgeable person about fashion to look at your blog. >_<'
